Lab Objectives

  • Cable a network in accordance with the diagram given
  • Configure the hostname and interface IP addresses, or paste the initial configuration onto all devices
  • Configure the encapsulation type on R1 to be Cisco's implementation
  • Configure the encapsulation type on R2 to something other than Cisco's implementation
  • Set the encapsulation type to ietf on R3
  • You have not yet been provided with the LMI message format to be used; configure R1 in a manner that should allow it to work with any standard
  • The LMI message format used by R2 should be auto sensed
  • R3 should be configured to use the default LMI setting
  • Add static DLCI mappings to R1 as per the diagram
  • For greater control, disable dynamic DLCI mapping and configure static mapping as per the diagram on R2
  • For security reasons, dynamic mapping must be disabled on R3. Ensure that the appropriate static DLCI mappings are added
